After Waits Lakes dismal performance we headed down to the Colville River to give it a shot because, we knew this little river should be hitting anytime. We got there at about 6:30 I grabbed my fly rod my buddie grabbed his 9' lightwieght spinning rod.

I used a Rainbow pattern steamer and he drifted a whole nightcrawler w/ a single BB split shot. I hit the first fish, first cast at the mouth of a adjoining creek, a nice 16'' Brown. Than I whent down stream to a whole about 30yrds down stream and hooked up a 12'' brown.

My buddie on the other hand didn't get anything at first, decided to walk his set up down stream with him, he got about a hundred yrds down from me and yeld "fish on, big fish on". I had to run up to the truck to get the net. He played that fish for a while when we finally brought it in it was a 27 and a half inch hooked-jawed-big-shoulder of a fish. We have caught a lot of big fish in this little river.

Yes he kept the fish I couldn't talk him out of it. We left right a way, he had to go and show off his fish to other friends and his family. Well ther are lots of other big Browns in there I know when I was a teenager I kept my fish and it seemed to have alot more big fish in it back in the late 80s.
