Got onto the river about 4 pm, two other boats onn the river but none of them had any luck. so i buzzed on down to my favorite fishing hole but found my least favorite sand bar along the way. so i anchored up by the barn and threw my bait into wat looked like a bubble stream and waited for the tide to come in. once the tide started moving i ran down to the delta and took the big channel to the left. its scary to get down at first so go slow. lol. got into my sweet spot and dropped anchor. threw about the baits within ten mintutes i had the sturgeon dance going on so i leaned back and laid into it. the biggest fish i have ever caught out of that river was 73 inches and this fish topped that, i didnt even have enough time to throw my anchors and he had my about half spooled and wrapped around every tree and stump in the part of the rivver.
The best secret I can share about sturgeon fishing is clean hands. i use dail none sented soap before i touch my bait or anny of my rigging everytime and i have had huge sucess rates with it. once i started doing that i stopped using scent and just let the sand shrimp go natraul. another thing i have found is look for little channels in the river bottom and fish the edges of the drop. hop fully gonna go out again this weekend
