I fished the Nisqually from 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm at the train bridge area. It was more of a scouting mission. Lots of smaller fish rolling, pinks I think? Unless they're jacks. Either way they're salmon trying to get upstream. I only saw one fish hooked, a big Chinook (15-18 pound range), it managed to fall back into the current and break free. I casted a few different colors and sizes of corkies, oranges and greens, with no takers.
There are plenty of fish in the river though; the run begins. The weekend after this one will be the typical Nisqually combat zone. The river wasn't too crowded this Friday evening; very pleseant conditions.
