Got down to the Nisqually for the first time this year at around 7 A.M. still was low tide. Gillnets were everywhere, hoping to see some kings caught, but it was a Horrible day of fishing,I caught one pink after about 2 hours of bouncin an orange corky with peach yarn in the same spot upriver of the Old Pacific Hwy. bridge. There were a few guys out there before work but I had all day to spend, didn't see ANY fish caught other than the one I got all day, not even any hook ups, the pinks were thick jumpin everywhere, but for some reason it was hard work even gettin hooked into them? Saw the gillnets under the bridge pulled out when I first got there had about 30 or 40 damn kings in them, yet no fish were being caught at all.I expected a lot more than what was happening. Maybe it's too early? After fishing the skoke yesterday and seeing all those kings it was dissapointing but on the brighter side it was a perfect day for fishing. If anyone hears when it heats up and is actually worth spending a whole day there let me know :) I haven't fished the Nisually too many times but I know there are monster kings in the river when they all show up. Won't be headed back anytime soon until I hear better.
Have Fun&
Fish On!
