Went fishing for humpies early this morning on the Skagit in Mount Vernon on the sandbar. There were people next to us that caught 17 pinks. They landed them almost as fast as they casted out.

My son and I didn't do as well. But we caught 2 good sized pinks, and barbecued one tonight. It was delicious, very bright.

The favorite bait was sand shrimp. The best lure was a spinner deal - color green with pink ends. I forget what it is called, but acorn shaped with a thing that spins with the current.

Pictures are coming - my son will upload.

Great day, and we will be there again tomorrow at 5:30AM. Hope to see some of you there.
