The rating for this report was not given because of there being a lack of fish, but because of what I saw and experienced there. This is the first time in years that I have fished the salmon runs in the river, I'm not really into the combat fishing thing. We fished the River road side across from the soccer fields. Got there before it was light to try and secure a spot to start fishing at first light, however the river was already full of people already fishing. So we found a spot to squeeze into the line of people, and started fishing when it got light. We didn't stay long because my friend who came along was not prepared for the conditions, and was soaked and cold right away. We did take a couple of decent fish with us when we left, but it was what I saw on the walk out that really got to me. The river bank, and the river for that matter, was covered in garbage. Everything you can imagine was littering the banks, and there was a constant stream of cans and bottles and cups, and other items floating downstream. Very sad and disturbing. I don't even know what to say about it other than, very sad and disturbing.....

*Editor's Note - I can appreciate your disgust, but let's keep the ratings system for the fishing success, not the experience. It just gets too confusing otherwise. Mike

Well, apparently I overstepped my bounds already with what I wrote.....so I wont go into detail about all the fish killed for their roe and left on the shore......
