Took the Quadfather and another friend to the Snohomish to get em into the pinks.
Got there at high tide, just as it was starting to go out. The fish were biting all along,
but really turned on about an hour later. I was getting hit or hooking up nearly every cast.
We fished from 6:30-10:30 and all three walked out with our 4 fish limit. There were three guys
there when we arrived and about 10-15 when we left.

A lot of people have been asking where I go, I like the fact that it is not well known and therefore am not going to publish the exact location on the web. It is a public access area and it is low enough in the system to be affected by the tides. With a little googling and reconisance anybody should be able to find spots on the Snohomish.

What I WILL share is what is working best for me this season - This outing really drove it home as I seemed to be hooking up nearly every cast and the people on either side of me were only hooking up about every 5-15 minutes.

I am using 8# flouro mainline with a 1/8 oz jig attached straight to the mainline.
I am jigging as soon as it hits the water, not letting it touch the bottom an probably staying in the upper 4' of water the whole way back (this also means I am avoiding snags).
Jig 10-12" reel in slack, jig, reel, jig, reel. And my "jig" is more like a quick twitch. To give you an idea of how fast I am jigging, Watching others I seem be casting about 1 1/2 times the rate of others using the same technique. The last outing I foul hooked a few but I would have to say, using this technique 99% of my hookups are IN the mouth.

Up until this outing I have been using a pink marabou jig and had GREAT results. Well today I lost it so I tried an experiment. The marabou I have been using is about 1" long. I tied on a pink 2" hootchie on a 1/8 pink jig and casted about 5 times with no hits, then I trimmed the "legs" back to just about the end of the hook so the whole thing was about 1" long, did 5 casts and had 2 hits and 3 hookups. Don't know if it has to do with size, or sink rate or action or what, but there was definitely a BIG difference.

I have added a picture of the marabou jig that has been working so well for me, and an un-trimmed hootchie for size reference.

I am in no way an expert, this is just what is working great for me.
