FISHED WITH FRIENDS SAT MORNING 4/09/05 IN 3 SEPARATE BOATS. TROLLED IN THE EARLY MORNING WITH NO LUCK. CRUISED UP TO THE LOGS AT NORTH END OF LAKE ADJACENT TO COUNTY PARK. CAST A CHUNK OF SPRING GREEN POWER BAIT WITH SLIP SINKER AND 5 MINUTES LATER WHAM!!!!!! USING MY LIGHT ACTION STEELHEAD ROD WITH 4LB MAIN AND 6LB LEADER WITH GAMAGATSU #6. AS SOON AS FISH SURFACED MY COUSIN RESPONDED "WE ARE IN TROUBLE NOW". I SAID WHY'S THAT?? "YOU SHOULD SEE THE SIZE OF THE NET I BROUGHT". IT LOOKED LIKE A AQUARIUM NET (ACTUALLY A SMALL BACKPACK TYPE.) ANYWAY THIS FISH WAS A TROPHY HOLDOVER, NOT A TRIPLOID. ONCE TO THE BOAT, THE IDEA OF NETTING A FISH THIS SIZE WITH OUR ONLY NET WAS A LITTLE SCARY. BUT ON THE THIRD APPROACH MY COUSIN CHRIS WAS ABLE TO GET THE HEAD IN AND THEN THROW THE BEAST IN THE BOAT. ONE OF OUR FRIENDS FISHING NEARBY HEARD THE COMMOTION AND CAME UP TO CHECK OUT OUR CATCH. HE HAD A REAL NICE DIGITAL SCALE. 6.1 LBS AND 24 INCHES LONG DEFINITELY THE BIGGEST TROUT I'VE EVER CAUGHT. IT WAS PRETTY WORN OUT SO OFF TO THE SMOKER IT WENT. COLOR OF MEAT WAS BETWEEN BRIGHT ORANGE AND RED. UNBELIEVABLE COLOR. UNLIKE TRIPLOIDS. ONLY FISH CAUGHT BY OUR GROUP ALL DAY. I WOULD RATHER BE LUCKY THAN GOOD THIS DAY!!!!!!!!!!
