Fishing again at the same spot on the Skagit. Showed up at 7:30AM and the place was full. Got lots of bites, some snags, but no fish. My neighbor landed a nice size humpy. Also he hooked 2 that got away.

Saw many others catching humpies. May try again tonight.

I have been limiting out in 2 hours using a florescent orange spin and glow with reflective wings, 2 pink 10mm beads under that with a 1/0 hook. 24" lead with a 24" 6oz drop weight (cannonball or pyramid) with a small fresh sand shrimp threaded onto the hook tail first. I've had luck with that setup every day I have gone out, at any time of the day. I don't have a boat so it's all shore fishing for me which i don't mind. I have found that if you set up your drop weight so it can slide up and down your line, setting the hook proper each time is a breeze. This is because you're not jerking the weight from the bottom when you set the hook. Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for the tip - I'll give that a try tonight!

I use the same setup but a medium size light green wing bobber and 4oz pyramid shape weight. Ten fish in two hours.
