Went fishing on the Stillaguamish this afternoon from 1:00 to 4:00, east of the freeway by the cornfields. Didn't catch anything, and no bites, although the fish were jumping - saw a couple silvers, and some trout, and then there were the humpies. Many of them were spawning, and you could reach in and pick them up with your hand if you wanted. Poor things, they were pretty torn up.

There were about 15 people fishing, and only one guy catching anything - he had 2 humpies that he caught on flies. They had HUGE humps and hooked jaws and didn't look even good enough to smoke.

Earlier we went more upstream by the sand and gravel plant, and there were hundreds of humpies spawning there.

So, on to another river later this week to try and catch a silver.
