Dropped by the river after work today to see what I could drag out of it. Got me a new 7WT flyrod a few days ago and have been practicing and learning quite a bit regarding river fishing with a fly.
Not sure what the fly was called, but it resembled a Purple Peril with the exception of having an orange body, red tail and white wings...the other flies used were Green Butt Skunks, and a chartreuse/pink Egg Sucking Leech.
Drifted the usual places, riffles behind submerged objects, seams between the rapids and slower moving water, etc., etc.. Hooked up on seven fish and landed two boot pinks. They're nasty looking but still fun to drag around on a fly. Have yet to tie into any Coho, unfortunately. Either way...good times!
