I fished here 3 weeks ago with my son and didn't catch any fish that day, but I left with the knowledge of what to use next time I fished here. I was shocked at the amount of people not fishing today, so negativety was creeping in the back of my mind. That all changed very quickly when I seen fish after fish jump and roll. I was using a size 4 Blue Fox with silver blade and chartreuse body. I caught and released 7 total. The one pictured was about the average size of fish. The color on these fish were not on the menu, so away they went. I must say, when these fish hit my spinner, their strength amazed me. I asked a local why the river wasn't crowded and he said the B run hasn't started, but will be smoking hot in a week.
To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie Terminator, "I'll be back...."

NIce Jens, I'm so jealous. I had to do honey chores on both Sat and Sun. WHY! WHY! WHY! DANG IT. Thats part of being a family man. Did you keep any fish? What the heck is a B run? Anway we need to hit something place that has something bright chrome that is worth some keeping. Maybe Tommy and Postal can show us where.

Can't wait to quit working these crazy hours going on my 4th week of 72+ hours per week. This sux i should be fishing instead of working. We'll get back to the fishing in no time bro.

Thanks fellas! It was pretty cool being "that guy" showing up later than everyone else and catching fish! I could feel the hate when I handed my rod over to my honey and let her reel in one of these brutes!! It took her over 5 minutes..it was cute. All she could say was how strong these fish were compared to trout..
The rains are coming fellas, where we fishing this weekend??

I wasn't aware you could fish for or keep Salmon on the E. Fork. Are you sure you aren't talking about the N. Fork? The picture looks like you are near the hatchery.
Sorry I am new to this page but just was curious.

I was on the Lewis River North Fork. I couldn't find North Fork when I wrote this report, maybe I clicked on the wrong location??But you have a good eye Steel lover!! I was fishing away from all the nonsense, as you can see in the photo, you know then the spot and you know about the nonsense that goes on there too.

Any day you can land that many fish is a good day.
I agree with the comment on that spot. When fresh fish are available you have to contend with some nonsense. It doesn't seem to be important for some to hook the fish in the mouth. I have seen 100 plus people fishing on both sides of the river. I usually try to fish further down river where people are less willing to go. It's been over a year since I fished there. Crowds make it tough to fight fish with 10# line. I am fishing for the fight and don't eat fish. I do fish the E. Fork a lot for Steelhead which will be starting anytime now. That's where my heart is as you could guess from my name.

Kinghunter a B run is the second group of fish that come from the north before the come back up the Columbia River. The A run comes from the south.

Yep Steel, this place is a zoo with all the unlawful fishing tactics. Pretty sad. I talked to some nice people and they called that rock, "Slaughter Rock." I know why...I'll be down in Vancouver area for thanksgiving weekend I believe, I was thinking of fishing here.
