I had been watching the river flows for the Carbon and Puyallup yesterday (29th) and this morning(30th). The flows had been receding all day and as of 9:30pm on the 29th it would be ok to fish the 30th. I got up 6am with fishing on my mind. Checked the flows online and the Carbon had gone up 2 feet (to 10 ft), making it in my mind, unfishable. This is due to the warm temps and snow melt. The Puyallup was up a foot. I remember fishing the Puyallup once when the Carbon was blown and hooking two fish right next to shore but I could not remember the flow volume’s. Therefore, I thought, I got up to fish, so I will go check out the 115th street hole. That is what I did. I fished a short time in the muddy, leaf, and downed tree ridden river. I fished real close to shore next to me. I had so many hook ups that I quit. Leaf hook ups, on my line, weight, and hook.
PUYALLUP RIVER AT ALDERTON, WA discharge was at 2000cfs and gage height at 49 feet while I was there. It has gone up now to almost 51 feet and 7000cfs in just 4 hours.
