Got to Minter around 11AM - very crowded, probably 50+ people there on both sides of the bridge with another dozen people just waiting for spots. Crazy! Worst combat fishing I've ever seen. Walked around and found a hole that was happening while the tide was still high. Went 7 for 10 in less than 90 minutes and kept the best 4, two of which were these fairly chrome 26 incher hens in the photo. Also got a 14# buck in okay shape, that's the biggest fish I've caught this year.
Spent the afternoon "fishing" for rigs as the tide went down. Probably got about a 10 hooks, 14 corkies, and 5 swivels w/ weights. :-)
Would've given a 5 star rating for this report if it weren't for the Ruskies - I saw one dude w/ 9-10 fairly dark chums on a stringer and the next minute, he stashed everything into a huge garbage bag. WTF?! Before I could put my stuff down, grab my phone, and call WDFW, he was gone. They really need to put a game warden everyday there during the peak chum run, which is this and next week. I'm sure he/she can issue lots of tickets and get some fine money for the WDFW.
