Hypothermia victims tell stories of a higher power guiding them to live, to press on. My feet, my hands, my nose, my face, my eyes, my manhood were all on the brink of reaching a point of no return. My thoughts raced and there was no way I was getting skunked 2 days in a row pushed me. I felt a presence from above guiding me. I could faintly hear a voice calling out where to cast, when to set the hook. Was anyone else hearing this angelic voice? I glanced over at the other anglers and wanted to say something, but my lips were frozen so I couldn't muster a sound. The voice called out again from above, "Cast to 1 o'clock jens. Reel, reel.. stop..SET THE HOOK!" Instinct forced my muscles to lift my rod tip. An mean angry Chum caused my rod to bend and my reel to scream. My adrenaline kicked in for a final hurrah because I knew I would have to go back into the waist depth freezing water to land this pig. I battled this beast for a good 5 minutes, honestly, I never really had a chance. The Chum wasn't stopping and found another gear. It headed towards the bank where a forest of trees and debris stood between a conquest and defeat. And of course, how this weekend was going, I felt slack.
Good fishing with kinghunter, goin_postal, Big smooth, Brian253 and the locals that are always down there. I want to end on a good note this 2009, but Saturday and today took a lot out of me. Put the Rod away or try and get a Steelhead? I don't know. Until next time guys...(Hopefully by years end lol)

LOL! I'm laughing with you not at you. Great way to draw the reader into your story. The despair, the fear, the voice of victory and the agony of defeat. You will be rewarded for your efforts young Jens, continue on your quest and you will prevail . . . one day.

hahaha! Nice man. I found a spot out of the water further up. Definate hotspot for the chum right now and still producing chromers. Did I mention it was out of the water so the boys stay warm...... funny story though... "presence from above" LOL!

great story and that is exactly the reason I love to target chum. I've been spooled before by a chum. Sorry you lost it.
