12/10/2009 11:01:00 PMThe Bogy is on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula near Forks.Try to google Forks and steelhead it should give you a good place to start.

12/10/2009 11:15:00 PMThere should also be a map on another site, I think it's one of the guides sites that shows the better spots on the Bogey and Calawah River to fish and how to get to the spots.

12/11/2009 12:52:00 AMIs the hatchery at the end of Bogachiel Way or near the state park? Are the Steelies running strong right now? I mean would it be worth it to make the trip from Seattle to fish this river?

12/11/2009 7:28:00 AMThe hatchery rearing ponds is at bogachiel way and from what I've seen from another site, guides have been saying right now is a good time to go, it should be good for hatchery fish for the next couple weeks.

12/12/2009 7:41:00 PMNice report. I am, originally, from Forks. We used to boat the Bogey a lot back in the late 70's and through the 80's. After a bit, there were so many boats that we just said to heck with it. Perhaps we were jaded, but it sucked. It got down to where we would only boat it on Christmas day and would have the river to ourselves. Then, that changed, as well, and there would be 20 boats in there on a given Christmas. Easier than trying to launch the boat and all was to just walked down to the hatchery hole. We had days down there where we we hook maybe 15 fish, sometimes three in three casts.
Not to come on here and complain, if taken as such, but this post made me miss home and the fishing that I grew up with. Thanks for the report:)
