I am new to this site, but really enjoy the info provided. So my brother and I went out to the Bogy for his birthday yesterday!!We got there at 8am and the parking lot at the hatchery was empty. There was a moment of panick,we drove along way and it is really freakin cold. This is going to be really good or really bad! Well only one way to find out if the fish are in.We walked down the trail and had the entire hatchery hole to ourselves. There were guys and boats on the other side, but nobody on our side.I went strait to the tail end of the hole and started pitching a bobber and my home made jigs in pink and white with a chunk of prawn.Within half an hour bang bobber down.I managed to lose that fish at my feet, not one of my better moves.Maybe twenty min. later I hook the fish in the picture # 1.My brother is now wanting one of my jigs and some prawns!! I give in since it is his birthday. He hooks up before I even get in the water again!!! This is insane steelheading is not supposed to be like this. The guys across from us are not hooking up and are now giving us flack, it was great. So long story short my brother hooks one more and loses it and I hook and land 3 more keeping 2 total. This makes 2 years in a row my little brother has caught a steelhead on his b-day [last year was on the Snoqualmie] it must be nice.So if any of you get a chance inthe next couple weeks take road trip to Forks the fish are in.Tight lines and take a kid fishin.
