So I took both my girls out to the Cowlitz River on Friday to go fishing. We left at 0330am and got there around 6am. We started at Blue Creek and after several hours of fishing we moved to Barrier Dam. My 4yr old, of course, finds a way to fall into one of the little puddles and soaks her pants and shoes. Now she's not having fun. She's wet, cold and tired and starts to cry. I offer her snacks, hugs and even tell her that if she stops crying I would buy her ice cream when we were done. None of this works, so I just start to tune her out and go back to fishing...(I'm a horrible father...i get that). So after a few minutes she stops crying and I think "OK. she's found something to do to take her mind off being totally soaked from the knees down." A few moments later, I break my line and have to wade back in to re-tie. I see her on the bank, apparently pouting. I ask her if she is pouting. No response. I ask her if she is crying to get what she wants. No response. I lean in close to her and hear her breathing very deeply. She's sleeping!!! She held this position for an hour. I guess when your tired you can sleep anywhere.
God Bless!
