was going for steelhead, knowing there arent many this time of year. So had NO hope but then my bobber went under and this fish just took off, my heart pounded....ended up catching a 3lb sucker fish haha what a joke but it was still a fish, not what i wanted but atleast i got something. Couldnt believe i caught it on a jig with no bait, just a weird situation.

I target them and catch them quite often on jigs and small plastics in the local rivers. They fight great on light tackle and make good crab and crayfish bait.

haha yeah i know a fish is a fish thats for sure! really jigs and small plastics? it is something to do i guess, how bout for sturgeon bait? do you think it would work well i know shad season is around the corner here in May which is exciting but i wouldnt doubt something would bite on it!
-by the way at the washougal are there any good holes to catch steelhead or is it a pretty dead river? ive seen salmon runs there in summer time and a few caught but nothing like the lewis, kalama or cowlitz.

Sadly I haven't fished the Washougal for quite some time. I do not know if it still is, but it used to be a prime river for summer and winter steelhead.
