Ahh, a beautifull day on the lake. I caught 2 24'' pieces of milfoil, a chain link fence and a hook and sinker right off of the boat launch. The milfoil seemed to like powerbait and I caught the chain link on a 1/8 bumblebee pattern roostertail. LOL This was my first outing in months and I wanted to give my gear a shakedown before the 30'th. Good thing too. My old mitchell 308 reel broke on me after about 15 seconds so needless to say I got skunked. I Couldn't get a good enough cast to get to the fish. Still had a blast though. Bought a new style Mitchell 308X(i think that's the correct letter after the 8) this morning. Apparently they dont make the old 308's any more. It's a shame. my last one lasted 16 years of heavy use and abuse. Great ol reels Guess we'll see how the new styled ones work. Any way, people were catching fish trolling wedding rings with a worm. Nothing huge but a dozen or so were caught. This was my first trip to this lake and I will definatly be back.
