my buddy has a 'spot' on the green that really has no public access accept through his property so it's fairly protected from fishing pressure. weather was great, water was clear.. I was looking for big fish but nothing was biting at all for the first 2 hours. then suddenly we pulled out old school spinners. He with his dick nite, me with an old rusty mepps that I'm pretty sure I inherited through my grandpas old tackle. dialed them in and it was fish on at least every other , sometimes 3,4 or 5 casts in a row for the next 2 hours.
We caught probably 50 or so total, with at least 6 being legal keeper size for the river. released all though. one was really a nice chunky feller. It's incredible how much denser and heavier a river trout is versus it's lake brethren.
Great day on the river. Really it's probably a 5 star day were we originally targeting trout, but had to keep it real.
Sorry no pics, I was afraid I'd dunk my phone in the river if i took it with me. Good idea because at times I waded up stream thigh deep, almost waist. next time I'll wear the waders probably so i can explore more.
next, more steelhead hopefully..
