Wednesday, April 20,2005 On a beautiful, warm, sunny morning, I launched my old bass boat onto the mirror smooth waters of Long Lake. I was fishing solo and my target fish was Old Bucketmouth. As I moved slowly down the shoreline, the redwinged blackbirds entertained me with their delightful songs. I saw several pond turtles basking in the warm sun on old logs. I tried several different lures but the bass were not co-operative. Finally after a couple of hours of casting a little 12 incher kept me from being completely skunked. I thanked him and put him back to grow a little bigger. It was slow fishing but a beautiful day on the water. And, I had the whole lake to myself. BJ
