Fished the Stillaguamish a few miles below the forks hoping to hook into a Coho or two. It was very slow. The previous day, a few Coho had been jumping and rolling. Saw only 2 the entire 5 hours I was out today. Starting in one of my favorite holes using a chartreuse # 3 blue fox. Didn't get any salmon to bit, but did hook into a few small rainbows which were released unharmed. Went to another hole and began drift fishing with corky & yarn. Hardly saw a fish and had zero takers. Tried a variety of colors, but I just don't think there were fish there to take my offering.
Going to try again Sept 9. The Coho should be running any time. I'll post again after that outing.
