930 am on the salmon river in welches (sandy tributary) water temp 58 ish (sun or shade 5degree +-).wading in 2-4 ft of water. 5 wt 9 ft fly rod with a floating line and a 9ft 4x leader. water was moving nicely used a staff for support but could have forgone it. water was clear lots of fry chasing the flys. i use just about everything in the fly box. the most promising was the black cadis and a chartruse fly (not sure of the name). caught 2 6-8 in rainbow trout c&r of course. fun day on the river. my friends caught the same amount.
