headed out to port kelly after work on the columbia for a few hours to give it a try. was there only 10mins and boom bobber down and after a battle my dad landed a nice 16pound hatchery steely, a couple mins after he landed his my bobber went down and i pulled but without any success. after that quick action it calmed down about an hour and then another bobber down this time it was my uncle who landed a 10lb steely. that was the last fish of the day so in a few hours we had 4 take downs and 2 fish landed (dad missd another takedown) and it seemed like schools were coming through and just milling around there, that point drops off straight to 80ft and i think the fish stop here in the deeper water to rest but who knows just my guessing.

Gorgeous looking fish - that 16lb-er's impressively long. Good job fellas.

Port kelly is on the Columbia... They look like they are on shore.. That seems as if it would be a good spot! :)

Is it just me or are steelhead way skinnier these days? I've been out of it for 20 years so I ahve an odd perspective. Summers tend to be more lanky than winters but I have seen a high % of skinny steelhead pics lately.

Ah, the fish is being held out that's probably part of it. Thanx for the report!
