I guess this was more of a 10 hr scouting trip. I did fish the Wallace, Skykomish and Snohomish. The Wallace was clear water with few fish. The rest area is closed and posted no trespassing-DOT. I fished under a US 2 bridge near the fish hatchery, saw one in the river, no bites. I visited the hatchery, lots of smolt in their ponds, it felt good to see them and talk with a few people visiting the hatchery. I fished one spot, near the US 2 bridge in Sultan proper on the Skykomish, no hits. I kept it short cause I wanted to hit the Snohomish west of the 522 bridge. They cut a lot of parking out of there, signs, can't park under the bridge now without risking a tow. Went to the park at the end of the road, limited parking on road. Tough to find a spot clear enough to cast from. Lots of fish jumping, mostly small, cutts, white???? and some big ones. Found a bunch of fresh water clams, 4" long, shaped like razor clams, I didn't take any but hooked 4 draggin the bottom, guess I need more corkies or switch to bobber fishing. LOL These clams seemed to have trails, sounds stupid but I swear one was moving away from my feet in the shallows. What the hell are they and do they belong there? I did catch a 14.5" cutt just before dark. Next time I'll target the cutts and see if I come up coho! I also scouted a couple ramps(Ben Howard Rd), looks like 4 wheel drive reccomended. I just really enjoyed the day bouncing from place to place and meeting interesting people.
