Dad took the family out in his sled for the day (so disclaimer: I was not running the boat)
Got on the river @7am and we were on the water pretty much all day long.
Started out by running up to Baileys - pulled plugs through the hole while there wasn't anyone up there, then dropped anchor as it started to get crowded, had a plug out the back, casting another, and dad was casting a dick nite. ... Nothing
Not even fish rolling. Went down stream a ways to anchor and tried down there. Saw maybe two roll, still no bites.

So we decided to run back down and troll plugs infront of the Cady Park ramp. Trolled up and down with a fire tiger, chrome/chartruse, and a brads I'm callin' the parakeet. (The old guy at the tackle shop in Ballinger made me buy it) It's pink and green and herringbone, and I don't know what else, but I was buying plugs, it was too late to make it to 3rivers, so I told him to throw one in the pile.
Well... back to fishing. NOTHING, again.

So we ran BACK up to baileys. Anchored low, and again nothing. So we decided to venture up river. A few stumps jumped and gravel bars sucked into the pump, and we found a few more spots to fish. At one spot I started casting a dick nite, and came up with a nice rock/perriwinkle combo. That dang bug was the only living thing we caught all day. Most fish we saw rolling all day was just down river from the 522 bridge.

Only fish we saw all day was one landed by a bank fisherman on Doug Bar and a chinook another guy in a boat just up stream from DB hooked into but lost. Guess that's better than nothing. Didn't see what the fish at DB was caught on, but he was plunking, so I'd guess eggs?

Last ditch effort before heading home was baileys again. Still nothing, so we headed back to the ramp, got the boat on the trailer, checked for holes and dents (amazingly didn't have any) and headed for home.

Even with no fish, it was still a lovely day on the river, always enjoy going out in someone elses boat (even though they don't always listen when you tell them the channels to the left) I'll hopefully get back out in my own boat soon. Specially with the drizzle we've been having, hopefully it'll entice a few more up the river.

I fished Saturday as well with similar results. We fished mostly around the moth of the Pilchuck and in the side channel below Thomas Eddy, not crap for us. We talked to several boats with 2, 3, 4 fsh... wtf, all we got was a Steelhead smolt. Saw lots of fish rolling around in the evening near the P, but no takers. A bunch of fish up near a downed tree just past there and they all looked like either even year pinks or kings (brown). Tryin' tomorrow morning.

Hasnt been much in the salt either. I've made four trips around the Shipwreck and Browns Bay and got 3. Last Thursday, no fish for me and I didnt see a net out there.

Wrong, not eggs. He was using a 50/50 Dick Nite. Most of the fish that have been caught on DB as well as the Stilly have been on a 50/50 Dick Nite. I should not say most because I am sure other bait are working as well. However, I am hearing 50/50 Dick Nite a lot. Funny thing is, is it is the smaller Dick Nite's and not the #2 Nickel and Brass but the one below it. Good Luck.

Last year it was the smaller dick nites too. I just guessed Eggs cause he was plunking not casting and retrieving a spoon. I saw plenty of other people throwing spoons too though. And we were certainly throwing DN's all day. Spoons and Plugs seem to be the hot ticket, we were fishing both, and didn't get lucky. Next time! :)
