10/5/2010 6:45:00 PMIm having about the same luck. Seeing tons of fish but cant get any to bite. I think I'm gonna try plunking next high water we have and see if that produces anything... good luck.

10/5/2010 7:11:00 PMIf they get spooked they won't do anything. Be real quiet, sneak up to the river and throw something very subtle. If the fish are lock jaw like that, leave them alone for a while and come back. Early morning, and late night are the best times to catch them off guard. or target them in bigger water where they don't feel threatened. I've had the best luck this season fishing water before anybody got to it that wasn't highly fished with small almost invisible offerings, opportunely right after sunrise.

10/6/2010 10:58:00 PMI get them on a small corky and a number 4 hook. I particularly like the spotted cheater corkies in the green yellow with black spots. They're cheaper than normal corkys and really small. No yarn needed unless it's super slow current, then I put a bit of dark red or black yarn, but just about an eigth of an inch. I've found that to be working in the past couple of weeks at my spots.
