Second day of fishing the Green below Southcenter. I was hoping the fresh rains would start bringing the silvers into the rivers, but only saw one roller both days. I had been hearing from a number of folks that I'd run into that the only thing the silvers were striking on was the eggs, but I didn't have any and I really like casting spinners. I had recently bought a new monster vibrax that they advertise for salmon. It's a lot larger than anything I've used for salmon down here but it sure is fun to cast a mile. I had to remove the treble hook and streamers that it came with to put the single hook. I was starting to get worried after person after person would fish for an hour and then call it quits. Did they know something that I just didn't? Is the lack of rollers a sure sign that there's just no fish in the river? I guess it's not and you really do get rewarded for tenacious fishing in the rain. This pretty hen is proof!
