heard a few things bout chico, so a couple buddies and i went to try our luck. none of us had ever fished here before, but it's on the list now. we got there as the tide was going out and there were tons of chums milling around the mouth. so i tied on a good sized green spin-glo an some chartuese yarn. hooked up on like the fifth cast ( we were casting an retrieveing them like a spinner, we were planning on fishing the creek til we saw the area an didn't have any lures with us). i landed 4 and lost like ten others, went thru a few spin-glos becasue they kept crushing them. one of my buddies landed two an lost a bunch. the other buddy was a newbie an was having trouble getting fish. i ended up keeping two bright hens, bout 8lbs or so. was an awesome day, with fish swimming round my ankles!

Probably gonna sound like a dumb question, but what is chico creek listed under in the regs?

Chico creek is not listed, so you have to fish the mouth.

there's a sign on the creek that'll tell ya where you can fish. there isn't much creek that's open (bout a hundred yards and only one good patch of holding water). i called the dept yesterday because i couldn't find it either, there's a two fish limit on the creek. i think it's the region 6 office you gotta call if you want more info.

you actually have to mark it area 10 I was there Tuesday and caught a bright hen in the surf- people thought it was a silver it was so bright and had beautiful eggs to boot..

well i found out yesterday that the guy i called at the region 6 office didnt know what he was talking bout. i got a ticket there yesterday for not having a saltwater license. i talked to the warden for awhile about what i was told, and he said occasionally some of the office staff think they know the regs and pass on info thats not quite accurate and that you gotta make sure you call the enforcement line to get help with with questions regarding regs and what not.
