Took the day off from work yesterday and went with a buddy to Kennedy Creek to check out the chum action. Arrived around 11:30 a.m., tide was still very low. Not much going on so we drove up to Hoodsport. Not a lot happening there and the tide was already too high to wade out and the winds were up too. So we drove back to Kennedy and fished the incoming tide. Was surprised to see so many people fishing on a Wednesday, guess it's a sign of our weak economy. Anyhow we fished till dark. I landed one around 6 lbs. and lost another bigger fish in about a 15 minute period. Then on my next cast I got a HUGE bird's nest in my reel and spent about 1/2 hr. untangling it. (ugh!) By that time most of the fish had moved through. Tide was dropping rapidly and it was getting dark. We walked out on the bar and fished the creek downstream for awhile. Had some bumps, my partner hooked a nice one but lost it. All in all it was a decent day, couldn't beat the weather!
