Opening Day. I don't know why I had such a sleep-less night, guess the anticipation got to me. Matt and I arrived at 5:45am at Pine lake and hit the water. Not too crowded, plenty of space in the parking lot. Not like past years, that's for sure. We ran out the standard flies - black leech, Montana nymphs, grizzly hackle wooley buggers. One rod with sinking line and one with floating line. Rowed along and had a steady amount of action. The fish are small this year. We caught 7-9" trout and no hold-overs. I didn't see anyone else catching anything different, either. Must have caught and released a dozen or so. Fished till about 9am and called it a day to get back for baseball. Matt had a good time, tried casting a fly for the first time. Then he got to row the pontoon boat. He found out it wasn't as easy as the old man made it look. :-)
