I fished the cowlitz for the first time. I arrived at 5:15 from seattle and found a spot below the handicapped fishing spots at blue creek. I caught zero fish but I did have one fish on which I guess was awesome, by far the biggest steelhead that I have ever hooked into, it jumped 3 times on the third time it dove down and took off and snapped my leader. I did not see any fish on for anyone on the bank, I heard that there was one fish caught but did not see it. I saw maybe 5 fish caught from boats in front of me but all in all I was told it was pretty slow, most people were leaving around noon, I would like to try this river again, that fish got my blood pumping, but it was a irking driving home constantly thinking dang i shouldnt have had my drag set that tight. I called it a day at 12:45 oh well tight lines!
