We got a late start today on opening day. Rock Lake is open year round, however there were way too many people at Badger and Williams lake. It was downright crazy!
Got on the lake about noon and fished the north side of the lake due east. Nothing much going on but we could see others pulling them in. Then we decided to hit a couple of our favorite holes towards the end of the lake. The sun was shining, no wind, and the soothing sound of a waterfall all added up to a great brown trout on a worm setup for dropshot. The brown was a fighter and weighed in at exactly 3.5lbs. It was about 21". My buddy then hooked up another nice brown on a white plastic lure.
All in all it was a good day. Many other people were limiting out, however we felt that we did pretty well considering how late we got there. We were out of the water by 6pm. Great day! Rock lake is a gem!
Tight lines!
