Hit up the Pend Oreille River again with my Dad and a buddy. Launched at Cusick around 8am and took a run up river. Within ten minutes after arriving at our first fishing spot we had 3 pike in the livewell. My first 2 pike were the biggest of the day, while they were not huge fish they were the great eating size. Thru out the day we fished several sloughs and the mouths of sloughs and in total we boated 11 Pike and lost a few at the boat as well. We were throwing Rapala X-Raps most of the day. My buddy did use a 5inch swimbait for a while which did produce 2 fish for us as well. Fished until about 2pm when this severe hail storm came from the North and dumped on us.
I didn't write a report on this but on April 22nd me and another buddy hit up POR for pike and we boated 15 that day in our boat and we had some friends on the river that day as well that boated 17 in theirs. Plenty of pike to be caught out of the system, all though are in that 3 to 4lb range typically.
