Fished Saturday evening with limited success caught 2 little pike after finally locating some fish. I probably saw close to a dozen fish after the sun started to set way back in the woods (and yes the fish were way back in the woods if you hunt around this river you could probably have some luck fishing out of your tree stand). For the most part they had lock jaw I actually caught the two fish slow rolling a buzz bait and didn’t have any other luck.

Sunday we hit the same spot and a few other places and kind of figured out were the fish were but once again saw plenty of hammer handles but didn’t get any takers. I did end up boat a nice 3.5 lb LMB bass on a scum frog but overall fishing was really tough. The no wake rule puts a damper on the trip because it takes all day to get from one spot to the other but at least it was nice and sunny and not raining!

What's the no wake rule? I haven't heard about it. Let me know and fish on! Thanks for the report. I'm hoping to get back up there.

NO wake rule means no wake made by your boat and a maximum of 5 MPH on the river. That's if you're a law abiding citizen that is. I fished the POR today. I saw about 4 other boats. Looked like I was the only one interested in following the rules. Everyone else didn't mind putting their boats up on plane and running the river. We saw one guy narrowly miss a floating log. That would have been something. We got 2 small pike and a little small mouth. Had a half dozen or so followers of no size, and I missed two other hits. I think there is just a lot of new water for them to explore right now. We found some 60 degree water but the fish were defenitely not "On the bite". Got both of our pike n spoons. Happy fishing.
