Went to kanaskat palmer state park today. We got there at about 3:30 and started at the far east side of the park. My Grandpa caught a 2 inch baby rainbow on the first cast and it didnt slow down all day. There were so many baby fish they would jump at your line and the would bight the swivel. (I actually caught five by putting a hook on a swivel) Saw a couple people it was not busy at all couldent find any sizeable fish the biggest one was only about 5 inches. We caught about 25 trout all together. a bit dissapointed there were no steelhead but they are proabably done with their spawn? If anybody knows of any good places me and my grandpa can go for good river fishing (he is not the best of hikers) i would really appreiciate it (i live in spokane so i dont know any local spots)

Hey dude, Please be mindful that those fish you're catching are probably steelhead smolts. They are much more susceptible to being injured than an adult fish. The Green has declined so badly reagrding steelhead that even losing a few smolts will just make it worse. If you do fish up there or anywhere on the Green for trout you should use single barbless hooks. I can assure you that releasing them using barbless will be easier for you and much better for the fish.

All fish caught were on single barb less hooks and were released safely thanks for your concern
