A few days late, but better than never!

Hit up the green river a few miles downstream from flaming geyser first. Hoping for cnr steelhead but try seem to be nonexistent. Did hook up with two nice size rainbows, one surfaced and was around 22in. Didn't get to see the other but he had some weight. Lost both of them. Landed one 4incher. The hook looked as big as his head, but he swam off nicely once released (actually, he released himself by swimmig through the bottom of the net). Moved up to flaming geyser for a bit, no strikes.

Went back to the green around 3p and from highway 18 to a few miles downstream. Found some great spots, but didn't have any luck. Parts of the trail around the shore are pretty brutal for tank top and shorts, lots of blackberry vines and brush. Worth the battle though for beautiful stretches of river. After a few hours moved back to the spot earlier in the day where try were biting, but no luck. Silver and blue spoon had all the hits.

Anyone know of any spots for decent fishing this year? All my good holes from previous years don't seem to be producing anything...

Summer steelhead has been terrible this year. I have been out a number of times and nothing. The hatchery has only got 9 summer fish back. I have been fishing that run below the hatchery twice a week for 3 weeks and i have only seen 2 fish roll, had 1 follow my lure, and seen 1 fish landed. Same for upstream at Icy Creek and Palmer, nada.

Even lake fishing for trout has been bad. With the weather so crazy I wonder if it has made a significant impact on all the runs. Thought the pinks would have hit the duwamish by now but still no sign of em in decent numbers.

Flip side went back out this evening and had smolt jumping literally right next to me in the water. Only one hit on my blue/silver spoon. Was going to throw out a rooster tail but couldn't get the trebble hook off.

What's the best time to be out in that area? Thanks!!
