Got to the river under the highway bridge at about 6 am, as soon as i walked down to the water i spooked to fish right off the bat, got me excited. walked up the river to the first corner hole and continued to fish up river about a mile. had two solid take down but no hook ups, seen probably a dozen fish but the water was crystal clear and the were spooky. caught a few trout on the way back down. i then walked down to the campground and casted right behind a stump pile and bam, float goes down and 150 yards of line go with it, finally beached the beast and it was a nice native hen. sent her back to repopulate the native stock and countined fishing, seen a few more fish but no hook up, one other guy caught a nice buck right down river from me. if we got some rain this river would be one fire. it was an enjoyable day over all. i was using a small marabou pale pink/white jig tipped with a coonie tail. if you go fish this river dont bring ur 9 foot meat stick, i favor a 7 foot meduim light rod for this river and 10 pound test. and try to sneak up from down stream on these fish, if you can see them they can see you. ill be hitting the bogi this weekend.
