Fishing was very hot in the morning from 6am to 8am behind the Kmart. Managed a first cast fish and went 8/10 on the day. My goto color has become green #10 corkie with chartreuse yarn and shrimp scent with about 3/8 weight cannonball. After 8am the fishing went down hill and it became very hit or miss with long dry spells. Even the more productive side of the river was slow. A older gentleman in his 70's or 80's hooked a whopper king atleast 25+lbs and it put on a show jumping out of the water 4 or 5 times. It was alot for the old guy to handle and he managed to get it about 5 feet from him when it came off. Also saw a real nice silver landed. Pulled a crap load of line out of the river again along with 100 yards of braid tied directly to a hook.
Pro-Tip: Dont tie braid directly to lures/hooks always use a mono/fluoro leader of weaker test than your mainline braid. Braid will hang around in the river for a long time and it can cut mono line. Its not a good thing to have in the river.
