Stopped by Thomas' Eddy for a couple hours today in the afternoon. The first 20 minutes the fishing was great, I crackered four fish. Using a wee Dick Nite in pink and white, I think that the tiny little hooks were just not big enough to get a good grip on the fish. Probably a size 00, with baby hooks. Was a little bit frusterating, but oh well, they're pinks. It was slow for a lot of guys, they were pickier in the afternoon than they are in the morning. The bite died for a while after that.

Some dude on the bank on the other side had left for a beer run or something and his boat started drifting away. I have no idea why he didn't tie it off, the waves from other people zooming through probably knocked it loose. I thought about jumpoing in after it, but it looked like it was headed for the far bank down below and somebody would grab it. Someone did end up grabbing it. Then the guy shows up half an hour later and starts yelling, where the heck is my boat?!?! WE yelled across that he'd lost it. But it took him a while to figure it out. He's lucky that we caught it for him, because it would have been GONE. I guess he learned his lesson.

After that I got one more hit on a 50/50 dick nite that I'd switched to. It was two sizes bigger, so the hook stuck. The fish seemed large and fought really well for a while and I though it was a coho for a second when I saw it. After about five minutes I landed it and it was just a big pink. Ended up being a 7 1/2 pound chromer. I bonked it and made a few more casts but left after a bit. These pinks are a lot of fun. And tasty.

You never seem to have a boring trip out there, always an adventure! Congrats!

Oh I have lots of uneventful trips, I just rarely post them. I guess I could take time out to post, went to ___ fished for ___ and got skunked. Or I could give away all my secret spots to the stampede of humpy anglers. I wish I had a boat some days. Heheheh. But it is true, I somehow find my share of adventure. I like it that way.

I like the set of keys with what looked like a "float" for keys on the ring.... pass that one to Dad! (-:

iFunny, I was going to comment: "Hey where is the floaty thingy on the key ring, Nate? The blue thing looks to be a plastic key ring advertising "Chehalis Rentals" or something similar. The black thing is the key faub or whatever the deal is called that remotely unlocks the car door, trunk, panic alarm, and remote engine start.

Yea, the fob thing is actually a balloon that deploys when it senses water. My dad got it after the trip, and it's smaller than a big buoy, which I was using before. It only works once though, which is a bummer, so if I do drop my keys it'll be back to the big buoy!

Looks like dear old dad is done screwing around with sinking car keys. I would be so tempted to try out the fob balloon, that I would probably waste the one time shot on seeing it work by dropping in a water filled sink.

That is great! It is always a clown-show on the Snoho.... a couple decades ago, the only people fishing from banks at Thomas' Eddie would generally provide us teenagers a nice look into how "ADULTS" drinking the Mad Dog and/or Malt Liquor-beer would slowly get drunker and drunker and sometimes, when lucky, we would watch them eventually fall into river off rocks they were perched on. Nowadays, it is truly a festival of sillies....time sure moves!
