I went out for the hour before and after low tide. Zero fish coming up as far as pinks and coho, but there were some kings rolling around. First 15 minutes I hooked a monster that had me zooming up and down the river, when I saw it was a king I let the line go slack and let him off easy. Guys on the river were aghast that that happened.
A little bit later I had another fish on, this one was a little smaller, but brighter and zoomed up stream. I yell FISH ON! The fish starts running up stream almost faster than I can keep up with him, and makes two big jumps. And then as I'm yelling FISH ON, guy across the river looks att me and casts right over my line, the fish runs up, my line sandwhiches and POP, he crackers off.
It was a king, so I didn't peeve me as much as it would if it were a coho or pink, but COME ONE GUYS! Don't cast over fish on. There were only three of us there, it's not hard to get a rythm going.
No pinks, no coho, no fish pushing up. It was like they had the nets out. I'm going to have to check the schedule.
