First time posting...defintiely learned a lot from y'all...thanks. took the kids out in our 10' hewscraft...8 hp yamaha putted us up the river from the riverfront park launch. Anchored up next to the south side of the river near a spot we fished with a relative a cople of years ago. two wicked wille's out back of the boat, one pink spin and glo with sand shrimp out towards the middle of the river and one orange blade spinner with sand shrimp towards the shore. 8 year old reels in two 5+lb bucks, the 5 year old catches his first salmon, a smallish hen.Yep he's hooked! At one point, we could not keep the fish off this rod...had three fish on in three casts but lost before we could get in the net. The heartbeak of the day...daughter catches a 5lb silver on my lake pole and wicked wille (awesome) and as we go to pull up and gome home, notice her silver is missing off the stringer :-( I definitely won't be letting the fish (gutted and gilled) trail behind the boat in the water anymore...going right in the cooler!
