So set my alarm for 5:00 and it went off but my dad and i like the snooze button so we fell back asleep and didnt get to the boat launch in snohomish till like 8 or so. But we got out only having to wait for 2 boats! And we go up kinda by where the pilchuck runs in and we just see a bunch of fish jumping (we totally hit the tides right!) so we anchor in our 14' valco that we just got yesterday for $400 and we start jigging and like my 5th cast fish on! so i play him and fight him and right as we are about to get him in he darts off and spits the hook:( so another 4 or 5 casts and i hook another fish but this think didnt really fight very well and after 5 seconds he spits it! so like 30 min goes by and my dad hooks up and hes into his first salmon ever! (We dont salmon fish much) So i grab the net and after a good fight we bring it in and its a nice hen about 4 or 5 lbs. So then he makes 2 more casts and gets another one! We land it and put him in the cooler! So after loosing about 3 more fish and watching a guy on a canoe land 3 my dad just goofs off and drops it right below the boat and starts jigging it and then WHAMMM!! Gets and nice hen and puts her on ice! So my dad and lil bro and me drop ours down and my dad said next fish he gets on goes to ethan( my lil bro) so 1 min later he hooks up and it was cool watching my lil brother fight his first salmon! Land it and its a nice buck pushing 5 or 6 lbs. so then we all drop it down and my bro hooks up but loooses it then i hook up and we already have 4 in the cooler so my dad asks do u want to take home 5? (we didnt want to many) so i said yes because this buck was a hog! Probably 6 lbs! so from then on we just catch and realease! My dad ended up landing 5 and we kept 3 of em and my bro landed 2 and i landed two and we missed many! It was a great day and we are going early tomorrow! Anyone want to hook up and fish??
