I got up fairly early and made it to Thomas Eddy right after the sun came out. Chilly. Ended up staying until 3pm, despite being on "just one more cast" for the last 3 hours. Ended up with one not-so-humped/not-so-big male pink somewhere in the middle of there.
I'm tempted to give a better rating based on riverside antics. One fellow had to strip to his skivvies to get a fish that was on his line but snagged 1/4 of the out in the river on a rock or something. Later, one of the regulars who my friend and I have dubbed "Ole' Dick Nite" (because he always nails em' with little 50/50's and is there day and night) ended up stripping down to his boxers to try and retrieve one of those beloved Dick Nites he'd snagged on a rock. To cap all that, a Beaver was swimming right down the middle of the river. Later, it swam right up to the rocks where two guys were fishing. I half expected it to hop up on shore and grab a rod and a cigar.
It was also a nice sunny day, the type I thought were gone this year... so, I'm willing to forgive the single fish. The actual fish numbers seemed pretty low from about 10am to 3, and they're looking a little ragged. I guess the trick to catch them is to strip down to your undies and jump in like a beaver.
