Hit the river again on the way to work and saw quite a few guys fishing on the north side of the river. I crossed over the bridge and started with a inline spinner with a size 3 French Blade. The larger ones I used before would have been too "heavy" for the current to turn.
In less than five minutes, I felt a huge smash and the game was on. It was a huge and bright coho I(to me, anyway), easily 24" in length or over just a tad. Come to think of it, any coho I might have caught would have been larger than the first one I landed earlier this week.
The battle was absolutely thrilling and enjoyable. As I was working on sealing the deal, it rolled over a partially submerged log and managed to get the line lodged. As a result I could no over maintain line tension on its side of the lodge and it was able to shake the lure free.
I was a little bummed but not upset and sometimes that is how it goes. I had to head into work after that. I think it was still a great way to start the day.
In the words of the governator, "I'll be back."

The spinner I used looked like the "snowman" bodied lure in the picture shown, but a smaller version. Despite being pretty small, the Curado DHSV I was using, did a nice job tossing the lure.
