Took my 6 year old boy to Alice this evening. This boy loves to fish and talk fishing. We anchored up and fished off the bottom to start. Our rig was 36" of 4lb test with a small splitshot at the knot tipped with a gold egg hook. We used a small puff ball on on the hook tipped with a small worm. We would cast out and let it sink to the bottom . The key was staying about 50' from shore and casting towards the shore. When the rig hit bottom whamo fish on. All of our fish where 12" or larger with this method. Color was key and changed from sun to cloudy and after the sun dropped behind the trees. We trolled small black W Buggers fast abut 2' below the surface to finish off our limits.
