Went down to the green yesterday to see if I could find some of the chrome Coho that people round these parts keep talking about. I caught plenty of trucks but not a single fish worth keepin.
I rate it a two because I caught plenty of fish which was fun but they were so colored up that they did not fight much and it did not seem too sporting.
First 2 were caught on spinners. Blue fox Purple #4 and Blue #5 both silver blades. That was near the dent rocks. Then the next 3 were caught on jigs under the allentown bridge. I did manage to catch one on a jig that was probably close to 8 or 9 lbs and was just starting to blush up, but it was red enough that I did not feel like keeping it.
One more on a double bladed blue #5, further down by the Tukwila Community Center, and then 2 more on my same patterned jigs opposite bank of the allentown bridge. The jigging pattern/action and the silver flash is really what gets them riled up.
All in all it was a fun day but I was bummed out the fish were so old.
Attached is a pic of the hottest jig of the day, had to tie a new one because the old one was all chewed up. I call it the Purple Minx.
