Went back out today at around 3pm again. Started up in Tukwila at my normal spot. Caugh two chum. One dark one bright. Brighter one pictured.
I have heard rumors and read reports of groups of chummers held up around the auburn golf course just downstream with loads of bright fish. Decided it must be investigated.
Went straight down there. Started right off the golf course. hooked one in a few minutes. Pictured (not that great) I know you will laugh but I don't really like handling fish more for the fishes sake, and since I don't keep chum I only snap a pic of the fish when I can then either long line release it or try my hardest to get it off the line in the water. Today I was not in waders so I had to use a stick to pop the jig off. not ideal.
Regardless I was less than impressed with the reports. Sure there were alot of fish in the auburn area. In fact by 4:15 when I left I had caught 4 more. But guess what, they were dark. I know everyone has a different impression of that but I still did not see or catch a single bright fish. I think that folks might see a fish roll and think it is bright because the belly flash but this Homie don't dig that.
So it was an ok day. Fished Jigs, Spinners, Drift and yes I did get humble and try a spoon. No luck on the spoon. One on a spinner, one on the drift with green yarn and pink corky. 4 on jigs probably because that is why I fish the most.
Not a bad way to wrap up the work day.
Till next time.
