I decided to head out to Metzler Park on the green today knowing that the water levels have been dropping for a few days and was surprised to see 10 cars in the parking lot. When I arrived at the river all the good spots were taken, I had to put in my time and wait for some of the guys to get frustrated and leave which was about 30min. I finally got into a spot where I could get a good drift and after about 5 min of working that spot it was bobber down. I assumed it was the usual chum, but than it decided it wanted to fly and do some jumps which took me by surprise, as soon as I saw this I knew it was a steelhead. It didn’t put up a great fight but was a blast to catch. After a few quick pics she was released to fight another day. I also caught a few chum while I was there. Overall this fishing trip today was great I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day than today.
