My dad and I headed to Whitestone for a relaxing afternoon of fishing. We arrived at the lake and it was relatively quiet. The wind was blowing a little and it was a little overcast but the water looked promising. We went to the northern end of the lake and tried some different things. I first went with a Strike King Zero wacky worm style and got a bite right of. It didn't stay and that was all I got on Wacky Worming. I tried some surface fishing and had a good strike but didn't catch anything. My dad in the meantime was using his black worm with a propeller style blade. On it he caught a nice 12" bass, then a 10" bass, right after that he caught a huge 19" bass. That was the biggest fish either of us has every seen out of that lake. Then he caught a nice 14" bass. I wasn't having to much luck on anything so I switched to do a little fly-fishing. On my fly gear I caught three tiny bluegill. That got old and I switched to carolina rigging a chartruse Gulp nightcrawler. I cast it toward shore and Caught a very plump 16" bass. This was some of the best fishing me and my dad have done on the lake. All the fish were released for others to enjoy. Tight lines.
